New E-learning system in Sri Lanka (www.webceylon.com)

Today i got a email probably a spam email from a person call Chatura Perera about a web site call webceylon.com, because of my curiosity i checked the web site and found that it is a new E-learning system for Sri Lankan students.

Although this web site state that this is the Sri Lanka first video based Sinhala and English E-learning system, i do not agree with it because there are some web site such as kuppiya.com that have entered to the cyberspace before webceylon.com.

There are lot of improvement is needed to webceylon.com web site that is allowing people to go through download section without registering.Because normally people are reluctant to register because it is time consuming and do not wish to give away there details to unknown people.

At the moment this E-learning system only have few basic video tutorial probably because it's new to cyberspace.
It's grate to see that the videos can be streamed through this web site but it will be fabulous if there is a facility to download videos also.

So at the end i can only say that if you a person who are searching for video tutorials this is going to be good spot for you in the future.

Sri Lanka Defeats Western Countries In United Nations Human Rights Council!

The United Nations Human Rights Council voted heavily in favor of Sri Lanka against a few western nations who were ganging up to condemn Sri Lanka for its alleged conduct in the war against terrorists.

Western countries have been heavily involve in Sri Lankan conflict and have been using deliberate covert measures to stop the war against the terrorist movement LTTE till the last moment. But Sri Lankan government at the end defeated LTTE terrorists in it's 30 years civil war and brought peace to this island nation.

In the United Nations Human Rights Council Sri Lanka resolution presented against the Western allegations received 29 votes against the 12 who opposed it. Six nations abstained from voting. There was a high unity among Asian countries in the council, specially the rivals such as India & Pakistan came under same team in supporting Sri Lanka in defeating the evil plot of few western countries.

This convey a strong message to the western countries who think they are superior than other countries that to stay away from other countries internal issues.

The etickets.lk web site which is a popular web site that sell e-tickets and advertise the latest films that going to be screening in the film halls in Sri Lanka has been gone offline for the last few months.

When i was investigating about this incident i came to know from a friend of mine that etickets.lk is maintained by a Ceylinco group company and that company does not no longer active.

Deccan Chargers Lift the IPL 2009 Trophy!

After more than one month time period Indian Premier League(IPL) 2009 comes to the end with lot of happenings!!

This time for the first time Indian Premier League(IPL) 2009 was held in South Africa due to security reasons in India. In 2009 tournament there has been lot of rebellion teams that have conquer the last time champions such as 2008 champions "Royal Challenges" team never even make to the semis. And also the top team in the IPL 2009 mark table "Delhi Deardevils" was knockout from the semi-finals.

So at the end "Deccan Chargers" team managed to clinch to their first tournament victory by defeating Bangalore Royal Challengers by 6 runs.

Happy Vesak 2009

Vesak is an annual holiday observed traditionally by practicing Buddhists in many Asian countries.

On this day Buddhists as it commemorates the birth of Buddha, his attaining Enlightenment and his passing away into Nirvana.

In Sri Lanka celebrations include various religious and alms giving activities, Electrically lit pandols called "toranas" are erected in various locations in Colombo and elsewhere, most sponsored by donors, religious societies and welfare groups. Each pandol illustrates a story from the 550 Jataka Katha or the 550 Past Life Stories of the Buddha.

In addition, colorful lanterns called "Vesak koodu" are hung along streets and in front of homes. They signify the light of the Buddha, Dharma and the Sangha. Food stalls set up by Buddhist devotees called dansälas provide free food and drinks to passersby.

Yahoo Mail and it's Error Code 2

One of my friend just asked me to help him out a question regarding his yahoo email account. His problem was that he was unable to access his yahoo emails although he can access the address book and other stuffs. When he try to check the mail above screen shot error occurs.

He have tried the link below error message that says to "Contact Customer Care about Error Code 2" and filled the form that pop ups but still there haven't been a solution for him for the last 3 weeks.

I Google for the specific problem and found out that it is a problem that occurs at yahoo server side and only option that we have to wait till the yahoo guys fixed the problem. Seems like it's some sort of a random problem and the yahoo support team is very slow in fixing the issues. So I must advice yahoo team that if they do not keep up there customer satisfaction up to standard they are going to loose their customers to competitive companies like gmail.
